Designing the Next Generation of Hotels for Courtyard Marriott

Inspired by Holst’s ability to execute quality design on tight budgets and schedules, Marriott Global Project Development hired the firm to design the concept for the 6th generation of Courtyard hotels. Holst helped investigate the values of Courtyard’s brand, future goals, and how the new Courtyard is a physical manifestation of Marriott’s vision. Redesigning their franchised hotel brand set the direction for all future Courtyard Marriott developments.

Improved Circulation

The team designed the central courtyard to act as the the primary organizing element for the concept’s circulation.

Openness

The boundaries between interior spaces and the central courtyard are minimized.
