A partnership between Related Northwest, Catholic Charities, and Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), Glisan Landing will provide 137 units of housing across two buildings in Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood. Aldea, the Family building, will provide 96 units of affordable housing, while Beacon, the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) building, provides 41 units for people transitioning out of houselessness. The placement of each building anchors the two prominent corners of the site, providing a vibrant streetscape along the main frontage of Glisan.
Aldea, in conjunction with Beacon, provides a housing continuum for residents. As tenants are ready to transition out of Permanent Supportive Housing to affordable housing, they have the opportunity to move into Aldea and remain in the immediate community.
Both buildings were designed using a trauma-informed approach. Aldea draws from a desert-inspired palette, with warm woods, earth tones, and jeweled accents on the interior. On the exterior, a wheat-colored cladding is paired with shimmering ginger-hued panels accenting the windows and insets.
