The Byline

The goal for the The Byline in Portland’s Lloyd District is to connect inspired places. The vibrant mixed-use apartment community complements the nearby neighborhoods and enriches a changing, diverse corner of the city.

Currently an underutilized parcel near the Lloyd Center shopping mall, the project comprises a mixed-use village with 689 residential units, over 35,000 sf of retail, and structured parking for residents and visitors. High walkability, easy access to public transit, and plentiful amenities will contribute to the vibrant urban area.

Contextual harmony

The development seeks to integrate into its surrounding context, but also amplify the community.

The Byline

The pedestrian experience

A main pedestrian thoroughfare bisects the site diagonally to maintain ease of access to mass transit.

The currently under-used property will be transformed into one that adds value to residents’ lives, supports local jobs, and offers attractive homes for Portlanders. In keeping with the values of the community, the design incorporates sustainable principles, practices, and features to ensure a low impact on the environment.
