Rachel joined Holst with a particular interest in working on affordable housing and civic projects. Her passion for human-centered architecture and sustainability leads her design process, always designing with the end user in mind. As a Project Designer, Rachel works closely with clients to bring their ideas to reality. She is committed to helping the community and participates in various volunteer activities. An advocate for diversity in the industry, Rachel joined the National Organization of Minority Architects Portland Chapter (NOMA PDX), first as a board member from 2022-2024, but moved into an officer position, serving as Parliamentarian beginning in 2025.

Her deep commitment to inclusive design is demonstrated in her recent work on the City of Hillsboro’s Year-Round Shelter and 73Foster. Both projects have a focus on accessibility and trauma-informed design. The Shelter will be a safe, supportive, and healing environment for individuals facing houselessness and 73Foster will provide 22 units of Permanent Supportive Housing and 42 units of affordable housing catered to families and people with disabilities.
