Since joining Holst in 2005, Cory has been instrumental to the success of many of the firm’s projects while also spearheading our sustainability efforts both in the field and in the office. As Holst’s Sustainability Director, Cory is an advocate for sustainable building practices. His extensive knowledge of alternative energy technologies, material sourcing, and methods to optimize energy performance is invaluable to our clients and design teams. Cory excels at working with clients, builders, and consultants to find and implement the best possible solutions to challenging technical and design problems.
Cory has worked on projects of varying types, scales, and contexts, boasting a diverse portfolio that ranges from affordable housing developments and private residences to libraries and commercial projects. As a Registered Architect in the State of Oregon, a LEED Accredited Professional, a PHIUS Certified Passive House Consultant, and a Living Future Accredited Professional, Cory is familiar with the technical demands of various certification agencies and is skilled at facilitating communication between all parties on a project to ensure certification compliance while preserving the integrity of the design.
