Brittany Shreiner Named a Woman of Vision

Women of Vision is the region’s preeminent recognition and educational program that supports the women who are shaping the built environment with their technical skill, leadership, mentorship, community involvement, and influence in the creation of opportunities in the industries for future generations of women.

The Daily Journal of Commerce will recognize 45 outstanding women in the architecture, engineering, construction, and related industries on Oct. 26 during its 10th annual Women of Vision event at The Sentinel, 614 S.W. 11th Ave., in downtown Portland.

We're beyond proud that Principal Brittany Shreiner has been named on the distinguished 2023 Women of Vision list.

Brittany joined Holst as an architectural designer in 2013. Her talent, enthusiasm, and irresistible positivity immediately stood out. In the past decade, Brittany has become an invaluable member of our team; a stand-out designer rooted in mission-driven work; a trusted colleague, and a proponent of change…not only within our firm but in the AEC industry as a whole. It’s no coincidence that Brittany’s years with Holst have aligned with some of Holst’s notable advancements. Brittany’s involvement, ideas, time, and efforts across design projects, firm initiatives, and community organizations helped lay the groundwork to achieve these goals.

During her tenure with us, Brittany has led some of the firm’s most significant projects, including one of Holst’s largest multi-family buildings to date—The Fowler, located in Boise; Glisan Landing—a partnership between Related Northwest, Catholic Charities, and Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) to provide 137 units of affordable housing across two buildings in Portland’s Montavilla neighborhood; and she is currently the Project Designer for the largest project in Multnomah County Library’s $387 million bond—the new East County Flagship library, located in Gresham.

Principal and Owner Dave Otte shared that “Brittany has been a force for good since she began working at Holst. Her unique combination of tenacity and generosity has given her the tools to become an extremely effective designer and leader in our office. In addition to leading the creation of our core values, Britt regularly guides our office retreats, our strategic initiatives, and some of our most complex projects. Brittany also has a way of inspiring others around her with her quiet confidence and deft design skills. Her optimism is only topped by her talent. If I ever have to phone a friend on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, I’m phoning Brittany."
