Architectural Intern
Holst Architecture is a woman-owned, queer-led Portland-based design studio that prioritizes the human experience of space in our building designs, and strives to express the highest environmental, social, and aesthetic ideals. We have been in Portland’s Central Eastside Industrial District since 1992. We are a B Corp, signatories of the NOMA PDX Call-to-Action, and are proud to have a Just. Label.
A Holst intern will be an active member of our studio and will be integrated with one or more project teams for the duration of their internship. Holst will aim to give our intern exposure to all phases of the design, documentation, and construction process. Mentors will be assigned as points of contact for project support and general questions about the office and profession. Other knowledge-sharing opportunities will be available including lectures, internal presentations and events, vendor presentations, and project tours.
This intern position will last 10-12 weeks in Summer 2025 with flexible start and end dates based on student’s schedule. Compensation will be $27.25/hr for up to 40 hours a week.
Job responsibilities may include:
- Collaboration with design teams to generate and develop design ideas
- Participation in design charrettes to define strategic goals for clients
- Participation in the creation of presentation materials, including digital and physical models
- Participation in the development of working drawings and documents and the work of projects currently under construction
