Josiah Henley
Senior Associate
Since joining Holst, Josiah has worked on several of the firm’s notable housing projects, including The Nick Fish, an affordable and market-rate housing development in Portland’s Gateway Urban Renewal District, which was completed in 2021, and The Aurora, a 93-unit, family-oriented affordable housing project in East Portland, completed in 2023. His innovative design solutions center around each client’s unique wants and needs, ranging from affordable and market-rate housing projects to supportive community spaces and office environments. His work flows from a deep interest in housing’s impact on human and environmental health and unique forms of cultural expression in architecture.
Most recently, Josiah has been working as Project Designer on Julia West House, a 12-story Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) affordable housing project that is expected to be Oregon’s first high-rise mass timber building. The CLT tower will feature 90 units of Permanent Supportive Housing with on-site support services provided by the Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest (NARA Northwest) and the Northwest Pilot Project.
