Holst Announces Four New Principals

We are thrilled to announce that we have named four new Principals to join the leadership team at Holst. Mark Schmidt, Brittany Shreiner, Lee Jorgensen, and Steve Lanning have been an essential part of Holst’s evolution. Each brings a unique skillset, balancing the big picture direction of the firm with the many fine details integral to fulfilling our mission every day. Here’s a bit about each of them.

Since joining Holst in 2011, Mark has been an essential contributor to the firm’s multi-family housing projects, where he lends his keen design sensibilities and technical skills. As a principal and one of Holst’s leading project managers, Mark excels at building strong team dynamics foundational to Holst’s projects’ success and expertly guiding designs from initial concept through construction.

Brittany Shreiner

Brittany joined Holst in 2013 and brings an array of experience in multi-family, commercial, and hospitality projects. Brittany is a natural leader with an easy-going personality. Her enthusiasm and partnership with project team members closes the distance between an initial idea and the built environment, resolving details at each scale to create innovative, animated spaces. During her tenure at Holst, Brittany has led many of the firm’s significant projects, including East County Library, Glisan Landing, and The Fowler.

Lee Jorgensen

Lee’s passion for creating vibrant, social spaces is evident in his craft. His commitment to social and environmental sustainability, affordability, and quality transcends all markets and is an asset to the team. Lee originally joined Holst in 2013 and recently re-joined the firm in 2021 with a Midwest presence, balancing his time between Minneapolis and Portland.

Steve Lanning

Steve has a passion for helping creative businesses and individuals turn their visions into reality through solid financial practices. As a CPA, he brings over 15 years of professional finance and accounting experience to Holst, with a background in sustainable architecture, real estate development, public accounting, and banking. Steve joined Holst in 2020 as CFO and Business Director.
